Finlands Nefrologförening r.f. är grundad år 1970. Föreningens målsättning är att befrämja utbildning och forskning i nefrologi i Finland och att förbättra vården av nefrologiska patienter. Föreningen ger utlåtanden om sådant som berör dess intressen i Finland och även vid behov till internationella nefrologiska samfund. Finlands Nefrologförening arrangerar nationella skolningstillfällen och föreläsningar och har fungerat som värd för internationella kongresser. De viktigaste nefrologiska skolningarna i Finland är föreningens tvådagarsmöten i mars och oktober–november. Föreningen delar vartannat år ut Börje Kuhlbäck-priset till en framstående erfaren medlem och vartannat år ett pris till en ung lovande forskare. Föreningen har cirka 200 medlemmar. Ordförande är Ilkka Pörsti, MD (ilkka. porsti(at)tuni.fi) och sekreterare Paula Mantula, MD (paula.mantula(at)pirha.fi).

The Finnish Society of Nephrology was founded in 1970. Its purpose is to enhance the teaching and studying of nephrology and to improve the treatment of nephrological patients. The Society gives statements concerning its interests in Finland and among international nephrological societies. It arranges national, open lectures and has even hosted international meetings. The main nephrological educational congresses in Finland are meetings of the Society in March and October/November. The Society gives the Börje Kuhlbäck Award biannually to an outstanding member, and also biannually, the Young Scientist Award to a promising young researcher is given. Presently, the Society has approximately 200 members. The President of the Society is Ilkka Pörsti, MD (ilkka.porsti(at)tuni.fi) and the Secretary Paula Mantula, MD (paula.mantula(at)pirha.fi).
